Dream Kingdom is a theme park located at the Disneyland New York Resort in TBA, New York, USA. featuring rides and attractions based on Disney and FiddleGriff properties that opened on April 4th, 1978. The park, alongside the resort was built, and is owned and operated by The N.Y Land Company, a subsidiary of the much-larger media conglomerate, Disney-FiddleGriff.

History[]

Following the success of Disneyland in California and Walt Disney World in Florida, plans to build a similar theme park, but in New York emerged in 1973/1974. Under the leadership of Card Walker, In late 1974, the heads of Disney's theme park division, Dick Nunis and Jim Cora, presented a list of approximately a possible New York location for the park. The initial contract for the construction of Dream Kingdom was signed in April 1975. Under the leadership of Theodore Chrisman and the recently founded FiddleGriff Productions subsidiary, The N.Y Land Company, construction of the park, now called Dream Kingdom began in early 1976 and was covered by hundreds of reporters as an indication of the high expectations for the park in the future. The final cost of Dream Kingdom was 500 million dollars overall in 1978. Dream Kingdom opened in 1978 in New York as an instant success and it became an overnight smash hit. TBA.

A year after Dream Kingdom opened, the park would announce it would be adding it's second major thrill ride, a western-themed roller coaster called Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, which eventually opened in May 30th, 1982 to instant success. TBA.

TBA.

Later in Late 1988, Disneyland New York announced that a 2nd Park would be made and it would be called Disney-MGM Hollywood Studios and it would open in 1991.
