Nick and Judy’s Wild Adventure is an iteration of Splash Mountain. It is based on the Zootopia movie and it’s characters.

Plot[]

Guests ride in a Zootopia travel boat and take a journey along the Zootopia river. Guests witness the events of the first Zootopia movie as they try and help Judy and Nick uncover the missing predators case.

Queue[]

Visitors visit the Hopps family farm and head to board their boats.

Ride[]

After boarding, guests are taken along a river and up a small lift hill. Next to them are Nick and Judy’s parents, who are warning about the dangers of Zootopia, specifically the predator population. Guests reach a higher level of the river and see the Zootopia city. A noticeable detail is a large water leak coming from the top of City Hall with other boats falling out and into the large lake surrounding the city below. The boats rise on another lift chain and head into the city. A support frame ahead seems to have split, causing the river to flow into the streets. Guests fall down a small drop and head into the city.

As soon as the boats arrive into Zootopia, musical star Gazelle welcomes guests to the city. The boats ride toward the ZPD police station and crash into Chief Bogo’s meeting room. The Chief explains the problem, with many predators missing. Guests continued toward the city street, with Judy “persuading” Nick to help her on the missing predators case. Nick says he knows where they can find clues as visitors pass by. Following Nick and Judy, the boats float into the DMV, where sloths can be seen slowly filing paperwork. Judy is mad at Nick as he talks to Flash the Sloth as guests pass them. While exiting the DMV, Judy announces that they have a clue and to head to Tundratown. Guests exit through a broken water damn with freezing water near the back of the DMV as the rafts fall down a small drop.

Now in Mr. Big’s office, Polar Bear bodyguards monitor the guests as Judy talks to Mr. Big about Mr. Otterton. A guard can be seen holding Nick by the collar behind him as he hovers over a hole with freezing water underneath him, pleading for Mr. Big to have mercy. Mr. Big informs Judy of Mr. Otterton‘s last known location as the boats head toward an abondoned storm drain. Above the drain is the silhouette of an abondoned hospital. The boats plunge down an even smaller drop through the drain and into the hospital. Once inside, guests see all of the missing mammals behind glass cages, each of which has gone savage. As the boats continue forward, guests see Assistant Mayor Bellwether talking about her plan to make every creature in Zootopia fear predators with the Night Howler berries. Guests escape as a guard rams toward them. Nick and Judy can be seen farther down the tunnel. Judy is holding a pen with the recorded message of Bellwether while telling Nick they need to get tge evidence to the ZPD quickly. Nick can be seen holding a brief case with the Night Howler gun in it as he points out a quick escape route.

Guests are guided toward a large lift hill, ment as a secret passage for construction crews that lead to the still broken City Hall. As the boats begin the climb, Bellwether can be seen overhead telling her guards to get Judy and Nick, as well as the guests. Near the top of the hill, Judy asks Nick if he can swim, which he replies with yes, but asks why. The boats then reach a broken window and plunge down a large waterfall created from the passage way, falling back into the main city.

Near the bottom, the boats slow down and make a U-turn. Guests can see that they are in the city streets, which have been flooded with water from the river. As they make their way into the heart of Zootopia, TV monitors inform visitors that Bellwether has been arrested and that an antidote for the Night Howlers’ effect has been created. Guests soon head back into the city and witness a large concert with Gazelle as the lead singer, singing “Try Everything.” Mr. Big, Chief Bogo, and Clawhauser can be seen among the crowd dancing. Visitors even exit the concert and pass by Judy and Nick. Judy is mocking Bellwether (who is behind bars) by saying, “It’s called a hustle, sweetheart.” Nick can be seen in his new police uniform with sunglasses on and a pawpsicle in his hand. Finally heading toward the exit, the boats pass by a ZPD cruiser with Flash, who has a speeding ticket in his hand. As the boats leave Nick can be heard telling Judy, “You know you love me,” to which she replies, “Do I know that? Yes, yes I do.”

Trivia[]

  • In keeping with the spirit of the original Splash Mountain ride, most of the characters are portrayed through advanced animatronics, with screens being used rarely. The animatronics use the same technology as those found in Epcot’s Frozen Ever After.
  • The only characters portrayed fully through screens are the savage predators.
  • In the police station, "Wanted" ads for both Br'er Fox and Br'er Bear can be seen as a reference to Splash Mountain.
  • As another reference to Splash Mountain, a mailbox near Judy‘s parents has the initials B.R. as a reference to Br'er Rabbit. The initials also pop up on a box at Gazelle’s concert, reading “B.R.’s Laughin Place.”
