Spirit of Mickey Street Show

The Spirit of Mickey was a street show located in the New York Street section of Disney's Hollywood Studios (when it was named "Disney's MGM Studios") that ran from July to September of 1998 to promote the direct-to-video release of the same name. The show replaced the Operation: Toy Story street shows that previously ran in that area the previous year. [1]

Summary[]

At the start of the show, the float would arrive on New York Street to the song "Hey Mickey", as featured in "The Spirit of Mickey". After some antics from Goofy and Chip & Dale, the cast performs "Rock the House with the Mouse" originally written for the Mickey Mania parade. The show then pauses for guests to take pictures with the characters, and the cast reprises "Hey Mickey" before the float departs.

Cast[]

  • Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Daisy, Pluto, Chip & Dale, and Max

Background Information[]

  • The float used in the show originally debuted as a unit in the Mickey Mania parade at the Magic Kingdom that ran from 1994-1996. The only altercation made to the float was the removal of the Mickey Mania logo, replacing it with a large Spirit of Mickey insignia.
